Harper Announces Re-Election Campaign

Huntington Beach, CA-State Assemblyman Matthew Harper has announced that he has filed nomination papers for re-election to the California State Assembly.

Assemblyman Harper will be running on his record of voting for lower taxes, fiscal responsibility, safer communities and individual freedom.

Assemblyman Harper said “I have represented the voters of the 74th Assembly District with common sense conservative votes that would reduce the size and scope of state government. I am proud to run for re-election on my record.’’

Assemblyman Harper’s campaign chairman Edward Laird said “I am excited to help Matthew run for re-election. Last election he ran on his record as Mayor of Huntington Beach and his ideas on how to make our state a better place to live. Now he has his record as a State Assemblyman to run on. I think the voters will show that they are very pleased with how he has represented us in Sacramento”.

Assemblyman Matthew Harper represents the cities of Huntington Beach, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Irvine, and Laguna Woods in the State Assembly.

Before being elected to the State Assembly he was Mayor of Huntington Beach and a City Council Member. He also served on the Huntington Beach Union High School District Board of Trustees.

Assemblyman Harper is a graduate of the University of Southern California and resides in Huntington Beach with his wife Elizabeth.
